Stilbaai ( Still Bay ) is a charming, tranquil seaside village situated along the banks of the tidal Goukou River estuary where it meets the warm waters of the Indian Ocean on the Southern Cape coast and is situated 26km from the N2 National road between Riversdale and Mossel Bay. The town is also known as the Bay of the Sleeping Beauty as one of the peaks on the nearby Langeberg mountains resembles a sleeping woman.

Stilbaai is aptly named as it enjoys a very moderate climate, and temperature variations are gentle. It has mild winters and warm, sunny summers which allows for all year round outdoor enjoyment.

The “blue-flag status” Lappies Baai beach offers safe bathing and long walks along it’s pristine white beach. For the more energetic, there are several picturesque hiking trails where you will meet plenty of Cape Grysbok, a small antelope that is endemic to the Western Cape Region. These beautiful small buck, as well as the larger bush buck are often visitors to one’s garden as they are very fond of flowers ! Stilbaai has an abundance of Milkwood trees and Olive trees also thrive in this area.

The neighbouring sea-side village of Jongensfontein is a mere 10 kilometers to the west and offers spectacular ocean views with excellent angling and surfing. It also boasts a 9 hole golf course.
